I’m Sam Drew, an illustrator and animator based in the UK. I make things under the name Lumps.

I’ve made animation for Adult Swim, visuals for Riot Games and Elrow, and illustrations for The New York Times and Business Insider.

Lumps Vol. 1 is a collection of my animated shorts, which received a Vimeo Staff Pick in August 2026. It’s a good place to start if you’d like to get a feel for my animation work.

I’m currently developing new animated shorts and mini-episodes, including 241 Kebabs.

Alongside commissioned projects, I make my own prints, trading cards and other things to collect. I like seeing the characters find their way off a screen and onto something you can hold.

I studied industrial design at Loughborough university before finding my way into illustration, then animation. I’ve been working independently since 2016.
